Do these things really yeild long term happiness? I think many people have to discover the real secret - it's not any of those things, it's only a relationship with Jesus Christ that can provide true joy in your life. We can work towards all of the worldly goods and still not be happy. This weekend at church, we had a group of children from World Help sing and give their testimony. This was a huge eye opener-many of these children had lost everything(or never had anything to begin with), including both parents - from disease, disaster or war. Yet, they sang, with huge smiles on their faces - they were truly happy, because they had already discovered the truth!
If you are searching, look to the Bible - and to the children's song for inspiration!

The theme of Altarego Brand Clothing is that we are transformed. When we give our hearts to the Lord, our lives should reflect it. The old is passed and our lives are new.
This concept is easy to profess, but I find that living this out is still a daily struggle. In Romans, Paul has a little bit to say about this in chapter 7. Apparently, Paul has struggles of his own: paraphrased, 'I don't understand what I do, what I want to do, I don't, and what I hate, I do." Sounds like Paul has the same daily struggles that we(I) have today.
He goes on to say that it is the sinful nature inside of him - he has the desire to do good, but doesn't carry it out. This feels a lot like me! I want to be a good Christian, but sometimes I just don't carry it out.
The Good News
Romans Chapter 8 - There is NO condemnation for those who are IN Christ...If Christ is IN you, your body is dead because of sin, YET - here's the good part - your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Wow! This is the key to being transformed. Sure we will struggle, because of the pressures of the world and our inherent sin nature, but the good news is that we can live a VICTORIOUS life because HE LIVES IN US!
Blessings!

Today's big challange. What impact can I make in someone's life? Am I living for Jesus so that everyone I come in contact with KNOWS by looking at my life that I serve him? What if they could only look at how I spent my time? My money? Would those be an indicator of who I follow? In my Men's group this morning, we discussed some of these thoughts. Boy is it convicting. On the flip side, we all have areas that we could improve in, and God is a forgiving God. If we could live a perfect life without Him, then we wouldn't need His forgiveness. As you go about your day, today, look for opportunities to bless someone, and show them that Jesus cares about them - even if you don't say it.
